My Journey to Support Coeliac Diners
Since being diagnosed at the age of 38 in 2022 I have been on a journey to educate myself very quickly on what being a Coeliac would entail. A journey that clearly you have been on too.
Upon learning what I was giving up, a week later I found myself crying in Pittwater RSL trying to navigate the menu only to realise that only two options were available to me. Since then I have learnt what to ask, whom to ask and now probably should go back as I’m sure there was more available that I just didn’t see!
During that time and ever since, I’ve also come to realise that searching “Gluten free Restaurants near me” wasn’t exactly bringing up a clear idea of where was safe for me to eat, anywhere really, let alone on the Northern Beaches. So I’ve decided to create a place for us, a place where we can sing praises of where we’ve been that didn’t result in stomach cramps!
This is where I will need your help though, I can’t eat everywhere, I can’t be everywhere, but I really want you to be able to find Coeliac friendly options to eat anywhere you go. So please help me, email me with places that you have been to and let us know what it’s like. In time I have ideas to add more to this website, places where you can get groceries, online stores that cater for us, informational pages (I’ve started a blog on some interesting pieces) and more! Please offer any suggestions you can think of and email me at info@auscoeliac.com.au
